Alistair ArmstrongAlistair Armstrong qualified as a CA in 1976, joined the firm in 1977 and was appointed partner in 1978. He provides advice to a wide range of clients, including the construction industry, retail and service sectors. As an aftercare counsellor with PSYBT he is advising new businesses and holds a Business Counselling SVQ level 4.
In his spare time, Alistair, who is a qualified tennis coach, provides coaching to clubs in Edinburgh and has represented East of Scotland at both Over 35 and 45 age groups.  He is currently Vice President of East of Scotland LTA and a council member of Tennis Scotland.

Richard BairdRichard Baird qualified with a medium sized firm, spent time with a large international practice. He worked in the industry sector for two years where he gained valuable experience before returning to the profession in 1990. Richard specialises in tax, having become a member of the Institute of Taxation in 1998. He oversees tax within the company and also has his own varied client base.

Philip BaldPhilip Bald started with the firm in June 1983 qualifying as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1990. He became a partner in the firm in 1993 and a Director of the company in 1999. Philip`s main role in the firm, apart from looking after the financial affairs of his clients, is maintaining the firms computer systems and networks. He is also responsible for staff matters and has therefore obtained a good working knowledge of the minefield that is employment legislation.

Philip lives in Edinburgh with his wife and two children. His interests are football (Hibernian), rugby (Edinburgh Gunners) and education as a member of his local school board.

Jayne AndersonJayne Anderson was appointed a director on 1st July 2006. Jayne, who is originally from Yorkshire, moved to Shetland in 1987. She joined the Lerwick office in June 1996 after graduating from Robert Gordon University and qualified as an ACCA in 2001.
Jayne shares the responsibility for the Shetland clients with Paul and is very much involved in supervising the Lerwick office audits.

Paul HetheringtonPaul Hetherington qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1998 and was appointed director in 2001. As one of the two directors in the Lerwick office Paul deals with a wide variety of different clients from mussel farmers to local retail operations together with a number of charities and trusts.
Paul is responsible for the development and coordination of the training requirement of audit staff and dealing with any ethical or money laundering issues affecting the A9 companies. Paul’s interest is in dealing with the changes affecting Scottish Charities and Audit compliance.

Victoria WalshVictoria Walsh qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1996, joining the firm in August 1999. She was appointed a director in April 2001.
Victoria is responsible for the running of our Sage division within the company and specializes in providing advice and training on Sage products. She is also involved in presentations to clients of local enterprise trusts.
