Directors & Associate - Abercorn Office

Alistair ArmstrongAlistair Armstrong C.A.
Alistair qualified in 1976, joining the partnership the following year and being appointed partner in 1978. Alistair was one of the founding directors of The A9 Partnership Limited on its incorporation in 1999.

Alistair has amassed a wealth of experience providing business and management advice to a wide range of clients, particularly in the small and medium sized business sector. He is also responsible for marketing and promotion within the A9, and promotes networking activities throughout central Scotland.

 

 


Richard BairdRichard Baird C.A., A.T.I.I.
Richard qualified in 1986, and spent time with a big four firm and in industry, before returning to the profession in 1990 when he joined the partnership. He was appointed partner in 1994 and was a founding director of The A9 Partnership Limited on its incorporation in 1999. Richard is also a director of The A9 Partnership (Aberdeen) Limited and The A9 Partnership (Highland) Limited.

Admitted as a member of the Institute of Taxation in 1998, Richard is now the A9‘s tax director, which he combines with overseeing a wide and varied range of clients. He also holds the Responsible Individual qualification for audit purposes, and oversees all audits conducted from the Abercorn and Inverness offices.

 

 


Philip BaldPhilip Bald B.A., F.C.C.A.
Philip joined the partnership in 1983, qualified in 1990, and was appointed partner in 1994. Philip was one of the founding directors of The A9 Partnership Limited on its incorporation in 1999. Philip is also a director of The A9 Partnership (Highland) Limited.

Philip advises clients in numerous areas of accountancy and tax, with specialist knowledge in the areas of charity accounting and reporting, residency tax issues, and in conducting specialist audits as required for EU research grants. He oversees staff matters within the A9, as well as having responsibility for maintaining the firm’s computer systems and networks.

 

 


Victoria WalshVictoria Walsh B.Acc.(Hons), C.A.
Victoria qualified in 1996, and gained further experience in practice before joining The A9 Partnership Limited in 1999. She was appointed director in 2001.

Victoria is the A9’s Sage specialist, and provides training and advice on Sage products, as well as ensuring that the company maintains its Sage Accreditation status. She acts as business adviser for a local secondary school in the Young Enterprise Scotland scheme, and is also responsible for staff matters, and Health & Safety within the A9.

 

 


Sarah Sloan LL.B.(Hons), A.C.A.
Sarah qualified with a medium sized London firm in 2000, then worked in forensic accountancy at a big four firm.  She returned to Scotland in 2002, and gained experience in the financial sector and in industry, before returning to practice when she joined The A9 Partnership Limited in 2005.

Sarah divides her time between looking after a broad client base, being involved in the supervision and performance of audits, and keeping up to date with technical updates and the ever-changing world of audit regulation.


Roy AlexanderRoy Alexander C.A.
Roy qualified in 1963, and spent time in general practice and industry, before joining Ford & Bannerman in 1974. This practice went on to become Alexander & Partners, before being incorporated as The A9 Partnership Ltd in 1999, with Roy as a founding director.

In more than forty years of experience, Roy has provided advice on all matters tax, accountancy and business related, to a wide and varied client base. In 2009, Roy retired as a director of the A9 Partnership Ltd, but still provides his expertise to the company as a consultant, whilst remaining a director of The A9 Partnership (Aberdeen) Limited.
